Full Hunter’s Moon
Full Hunter’s Moon

Sisters of the WOKE Circle—Women of Knowledge and Enlightenment—this Hunter’s Moon arrives as a luminous threshold. Exact Full Moon occurs at approximately 04:12 UTC on Monday, October 26, 2026. In Central Time that is 11:12 p.m. CDT on Sunday, October 25.

The Moon stands at roughly 2°46′ Taurus, opposite the Sun at ~2°45′ Scorpio. This is pure fixed-earth versus fixed-water polarity: the bull’s steady embodiment meeting the scorpion’s demand for transformation.

Why “Hunter’s Moon,” and the Names It Carries Across Cultures and Cosmic Consciousness

After the Harvest Moon (the full moon nearest the autumn equinox—September 26 in 2026), the next full moon is traditionally the Hunter’s Moon. Fields are cleared; game is fattened; moonlight rises early and bright, extending the evening hours for the final hunt and the storing of meat, hides, and provisions for winter. This is the practical wisdom of the Algonquin and other Eastern Woodlands peoples, later adopted into colonial almanacs.

Other traditional and tribal names include:

•  Falling Leaves Moon (Anishinaabe/Ojibwe)

•  Freezing / Ice Moon (Ojibwe, Haida)

•  Migrating Moon (Cree)

•  Drying Rice Moon (Dakota)

•  Travel Moon or Dying Grass Moon

•  Blood / Sanguine Moon in older European folk usage

In the deeper currents of cosmic consciousness that many of us work with in circle, this Moon is also known as the Anchor Moon, the Embodiment Gate, the Great Stabilizer, and the Veil-of-the-Body Moon—where the galactic download of Scorpio season is required to root itself in denser form so it can survive the coming dark. It is a moon of sacred provisioning: not scarcity, but intelligent preparation so the soul can keep expanding.

Astrological & Metaphysical Core

Taurus rules the body, resources, values, pleasure, and the deep knowing of “I have enough / I am enough.” Scorpio rules the underworld of shared resources, power, intimacy, death-rebirth, and the truths we bury. The Full Moon illuminates the axis of personal security versus what must be transformed or released in relationship, money, and identity.

This lunation is intensified by the larger sky: Venus has been retrograde since early October (initially in Scorpio, then back into Libra), Mercury stations retrograde in Scorpio around October 24, and the Full Moon forms a powerful square to Pluto (with the Sun also squaring Pluto near the same window). The result is a fixed T-square energy that demands we stop negotiating with what is already dead and choose true stability over familiar captivity.

Collectively, this is a moment when the collective nervous system is asked to stop outsourcing safety to systems, partners, bank accounts, or identities that no longer hold the frequency of the emerging Earth. Individually, it is a radical invitation to embody your highest self as a sovereign, resource-full, pleasure-sovereign being who can hold both the harvest and the necessary death.

Call in: Embodied worthiness, sustainable abundance, sensual presence, healthy boundaries around resources and intimacy, the felt sense of “I am held by the Earth and by Source.”

Release: Scarcity contracts, people-pleasing around money or love, attachments that keep you small, fear of the dark half of the year, any story that says your body or your pleasure is secondary.

Per-Sign Themes

Read for your Sun sign, Rising sign, and Moon sign (and any personal planets clustered in those signs) — the more placements you have in a sign, the stronger it lands.

Aries

This Full Moon lights up your 2nd house of money, values, body, and self-worth, with the Scorpio Sun activating your 8th house of shared resources, intimacy, power, and deep transformation. Something around what you personally own versus what is entangled with others reaches a peak. Old stories of “I have to hustle alone” or “my worth is tied to how much I produce” are ready for release. Call in true embodied security that does not require constant proving. Pluto’s square intensifies the demand to stop negotiating with scarcity contracts or power imbalances in joint finances or emotional bonds. Your body is the temple of this reckoning — listen to its signals of enoughness.

Taurus

This is your Full Moon. It lands in your 1st house of identity, body, appearance, and how you meet the world, opposite the Scorpio Sun in your 7th house of partnerships and significant others. The mirror is unavoidable: who you are becoming versus the dynamics or people who have shaped (or limited) your self-expression. Venus retrograde + Pluto square asks you to release relationships, self-images, or comfort patterns that keep you small or over-responsible. Call in radical self-possession, sensual sovereignty, and the right to take up space exactly as you are. Your physical body and nervous system are the primary sites of initiation right now.

Gemini

The Moon activates your 12th house of the unconscious, ancestors, dreams, and hidden realms, while the Scorpio Sun lights your 6th house of daily work, health, and service. Culmination energy arrives around what has been operating behind the scenes — old psychic residue, ancestral patterns around worth or survival, or the ways you over-give in service to avoid your own depths. Release the habit of staying busy or mentally clever to outrun emotional truth. Call in sacred rest, clearer energetic boundaries in work and health, and the courage to let the unseen support you instead of deplete you. This is a potent moon for dreamwork and ancestral clearing.

Cancer

Taurus Moon falls in your 11th house of community, friendships, future vision, and belonging; Scorpio Sun activates your 5th house of creativity, romance, pleasure, and children (literal or creative). What kind of tribe and future you are building versus the personal creative or romantic expression that feeds your soul comes into full light. Release friendships, group dynamics, or future plans that require you to dim your emotional truth or creative fire. Call in authentic belonging that honors your sensitivity and your right to joyful self-expression. Pluto’s influence asks for deep honesty about where you have traded emotional safety for group acceptance.

Leo

This Full Moon illuminates your 10th house of career, public role, reputation, and long-term goals, with the Scorpio Sun in your 4th house of home, roots, family, and emotional foundation. The tension between outer achievement/status and inner emotional security reaches a peak. Release career paths, public personas, or family roles that demand you perform strength while your roots go unnourished. Call in a public presence and vocational direction that is rooted in authentic self-worth and emotional integrity. This is a powerful moon for redefining success on your own terms and healing the lineage stories around visibility and safety.

Virgo

Taurus Moon activates your 9th house of belief systems, higher learning, travel, publishing, and worldview; Scorpio Sun lights your 3rd house of mind, communication, siblings, and local environment. Culmination arrives around the stories and belief systems you have been living by versus the everyday mental and communicative patterns that either support or undermine them. Release rigid mental frameworks, dogmatic thinking, or local/sibling dynamics that keep you small or overly critical. Call in a lived philosophy that is embodied, sensual, and rooted in actual experience rather than pure intellect. Mercury retrograde amplifies the need to review and rewrite your internal narrative.

Libra

The Moon falls in your 8th house of shared resources, intimacy, debt, inheritance, and psychological depth; the Scorpio Sun is in your 2nd house of personal money, values, and self-worth. This is a profound axis of “what is mine versus what is ours.” Power dynamics, financial entanglements, sexual or emotional bonds, and issues of trust reach a climax. Release co-dependent financial or energetic contracts, people-pleasing around resources, and any tendency to abandon your own values to keep the peace. Call in sovereign intimacy and resource-sharing that honors both parties’ worth. Venus retrograde makes this especially potent for reviewing past relationship and money patterns.

Scorpio

This Full Moon lights up your 7th house of partnerships and significant one-on-one relationships, while the Sun is in your 1st house of self and identity. The classic “me versus we” polarity is amplified. Who you are becoming is being reflected (and sometimes challenged) by the people closest to you. Release partnerships or relational patterns that require you to dim your intensity, power, or truth. Call in relationships that can meet you in the depths without needing to control or be controlled. Pluto’s square intensifies the demand for radical honesty and the death of any false selves you have worn to maintain connection.

Sagittarius

Taurus Moon activates your 6th house of daily routines, work, health, and service; Scorpio Sun illuminates your 12th house of the unconscious, solitude, and spiritual surrender. Culmination energy arrives around how your daily life either supports or drains your deeper spiritual and psychological well-being. Release overwork, perfectionism in service, or health habits that ignore the body’s deeper needs. Call in sustainable daily practices, sacred solitude, and work that feels like soul-aligned service rather than depletion. This is an excellent moon for purifying the body-mind system and releasing ancestral or unconscious patterns held in the tissues.

Capricorn

The Moon falls in your 5th house of creativity, romance, pleasure, and children; the Scorpio Sun activates your 11th house of community, friendships, and future vision. The tension between personal creative/romantic joy and the collective or social structures you participate in comes into full view. Release the tendency to postpone pleasure or creative expression until the “group” or future goals are secured. Call in joyful, embodied creativity and friendships that celebrate rather than compete with your light. Pluto’s influence asks you to examine where ambition or status has cost you simple sensual aliveness.

Aquarius

Taurus Moon lights your 4th house of home, family, roots, and emotional foundation; Scorpio Sun activates your 10th house of career and public role. The classic inner-versus-outer security axis is highlighted. What truly makes you feel safe at the root level versus the public or professional identity you have built reaches a peak. Release family patterns, living situations, or career ambitions that keep you emotionally homeless or disconnected from your own needs. Call in a home (inner and outer) that truly nourishes you and a public path that is rooted in authentic emotional security rather than pure innovation or detachment. Fixed-sign intensity with Pluto is strong here.

Pisces

This Full Moon activates your 3rd house of mind, communication, learning, and immediate environment; the Scorpio Sun lights your 9th house of higher belief, meaning, and expansion. Culmination arrives around the everyday stories and mental patterns you live by versus the larger philosophical or spiritual worldview you claim. Release mental loops of self-doubt, vague communication, or local dynamics that keep you ungrounded. Call in clear, embodied communication and a lived spirituality that can actually walk through daily life. Mercury retrograde supports deep review of the narratives that have been running in the background.

Across all signs, the medicine of this Hunter’s Moon is the same at the root: stop negotiating with what is already finished. Let the Taurus Moon show you what true, sensual, body-level security feels like. Let the Scorpio Sun and Pluto demand the death of anything that pretends to be safety while actually keeping you small. With both Venus and Mercury retrograde, this is not a moon for rushing outward — it is a moon for deep internal harvest, honest inventory, and sacred release so that what remains can truly nourish you through the darker half of the year.

Sit with the sign(s) that speak loudest. Journal, move, tone, and ritual from that place. Your body already knows the next true step.

Witchy & Shamanic Ritual Suggestions

1.  Create a sensory altar: soil, autumn leaves, coins or seeds, a bowl of water under the moonlight, green/pink/brown candles.

2.  Write what you are releasing on biodegradable paper; bury it or burn it safely while speaking gratitude for the lessons.

3.  Anoint the body with oil; move slowly and sensually under the moonlight or candlelight, reclaiming pleasure as sacred.

4.  Offer food or drink to the Earth and to the ancestors who hunted and harvested so that you might live.

5.  Sit in silence and ask the land spirits and your galactic family what true security feels like in the body. Listen.

Folklore Threads

This Moon has long been linked to preparation, migration, and the thinning of the veil as we approach Samhain. In Celtic lands the Wild Hunt rides; in Hindu tradition Sharad Purnima brings moon-soaked rice pudding for healing and fertility; across Indigenous North America it is the season of storing food and stories for the long night. The common thread is clear: gather what is true, release what is finished, and walk into the dark well-provisioned in body, heart, and spirit.

Sisters, this Hunter’s Moon is not asking you to become smaller or more cautious. It is asking you to become so rooted in your own worth that the coming winter—personal, collective, and galactic—cannot unseat you. Stand in the bull’s patient strength and the scorpion’s fearless truth. Call your power home into the body. The Earth is waiting to meet you there.

In sacred sisterhood and cosmic remembrance,

May this Full Moon nourish every cell of your becoming.
